As one Reddit user put it, he felt “deep nostalgia to the point that I can’t be objective, since my grandma lived around the corner from it. Which is to say, it’s the best and anyone who says otherwise must be shunned..” And this user is not alone. Many people regard L&B as their go-to pizza spot, a tradition that was “passed down” to them from other family members/close relatives. One patron of L&B Spumoni Gardens learned of the pizzeria from her friend’s parents, and that has been going regularly since–even though she is no longer in contact with that friend. She described the pizzeria’s Sicilian slice as “different.. but different in a good way.” With such a deep and meaningful sentiment like this, it’s hard to second-guess grabbing a slice from this local establishment. L&B crosses borough lines to serve not just pizza, but a taste of tradition as well.

2725 86th St Brooklyn, NY 11223

By Joshua Sterling-Tosado
From a horse-drawn carriage selling spumoni to a full-fledged Brooklyn landmark, L&B Spumoni Gardens has grown into one of NYC’s most iconic pizzerias.
