Since 1962, when Sylvia Woods opened her modest luncheonette on Lenox Avenue with money borrowed from her mother, it\u2019s been the steady heartbeat of a neighborhood that knows rhythm, resistance, and renaissance.<sup data-fn=\"3cd4d7f7-84f6-4515-9743-e7b153fa1515\" class=\"fn\"><a href=\"#3cd4d7f7-84f6-4515-9743-e7b153fa1515\" id=\"3cd4d7f7-84f6-4515-9743-e7b153fa1515-link\">1<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What began as one woman\u2019s dream of feeding her neighbors, blossomed into a crossroad of culture, community, and celebrity. Until her passing in 2012, she could often be seen greeting customers with the kind of smile that made strangers feel like kin.
