Industry City is the home to many established small businesses, including Japan Village, Sahadi’s, Li-Lac Chocolates, Table 87, and more. You aren’t hungry? That’s okay – visit Industry City for a new haircut, to shop for a new sofa, or to buy a designer outfit. Before Industry City was built, the residents of Sunset Park fought against its creation, worried that this capital would bring about gentrification and displacement and that the developers would not be bound to their promises of maintaining affordable housing or hiring locals.
