We dive deeper into the history behind the retro subway graffiti as well as the beautiful mosaics within the subway tunnels. We chose this topic because we are from Staten Island, so we use buses more than trains. As we explored the city more with our IDC class we saw all the beautiful subway art within the tunnels, which shocked us. This is one of the reasons why we wanted to understand why these beautiful art pieces were in the subway tunnels. Shalu Sajan and I, Manya Sabu worked together to make a NYC style pamphlet to showcase Subway Art, its history, the types of subway art, and the art in present day.
