This project explores three distinct voices: modern art at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), comic art at the Jack Kirby Museum, and the graffiti that colors the city’s streets. Each of these forms tells a story about how people experience and shape urban life.

New York City is not defined by one kind of art but by the interplay of many. Modern installations, comic panels, and graffiti together reveal the city’s creative roots and its ongoing dialogue between the official and the underground. Modern installations at MoMA show how space and material can shape perception, while Jack Kirby’s comic art demonstrates storytelling as a cultural connector bringing energy and imagination into everyday life. Graffiti adds yet another layer, acting as an unfiltered voice of the streets and communities. Together, these forms reveal that art in NYC isn’t just decoration.
