Hello, all, and happy spring break!
We have the ability to host two film screenings at Macaulay that would be open to the community and could kick off our awareness campaign.
1) Coded Bias
We could also purchase books for ourselves and to give away as a raffle or to the first registrants, or something like that. We could do the screenings at Macaulay and then have refreshments, mingling, and conversation that you could help direct. That Graduate Center group that runs CALI is very enthusiastic about partnering with us for the films.
What do you think?
I really like this idea! Could we prepare either a short presentation or discussion questions (for before or after the screening) about some of the topics we’ve talked about so far?
Yes, that would be ideal, Shirley! You could introduce the films and talk about your work, and then lead discussion after. That could be through a Q&A session, and/or we could have some topic tables set up in the Lecture Hall for people to chat and have some snacks after.
