Outcomes will be related to the individual faculty project, but outcomes common to
scholarly projects will likely include the following that, upon successfully completing the
course, students will be able to:
• Develop and articulate a research question or creative project
• Identify and apply appropriate qualitative, quantitative, or mixed research
methods
• Demonstrate understanding of ethical research practices, including responsible
data management and research activities involving human participants
• Collaborate with peers and faculty mentor on a long-term project
• Present research effectively to audiences of varying levels of disciplinary
expertise
