Class of 2030, I can’t wait to meet you. My hope for you is that you arrive at Macaulay full of wonder and joy, and that we meet your enthusiasm with our own.
As the lead coordinator of seminar Common Events like Night at the Museum and STEAM Festival, I know that I can plan everything well, but the events don’t work without the you showing up. We will be mutually supportive as a community to make these events meaningful and fun, and create lasting memories for you in your educational journeys and as Macaulay’s future alums.
I love to knit and think the process of knitting is a lot like teaching and learning. There are so many styles, textures, techniques, tools, and fibers. There is also a lot of trial and error, patience, mistakes, and some occasional cursing–but usually a lot of satisfaction with the outcome. I chose an image of a partially complete sock with a rabbit holding a dandelion stem. May it bring luck and good wishes for us all in our ongoing works in progress!
