Please provide an email address so we can contact you if we have questions about your submission. If you worked with a group, just provide the email address of one of your group members.
If you worked in a group, please include all members’ names.
Provide the address or map coordinates of this location.
If known. For example, 2015–Present or 1882–1903.

If you are discussing multiple different businesses that occupied the same address over time, please create a different location entry for each.
Teaser text is the hook that you use to encourage readers to click on your entry. It should be concise and engaging. Here’s an example from the Atlas Obscura website for the entry on the Kankoji Temple: “Take a lick of the legendary homemade miso paste that protected this Buddhist temple’s scrolls from a fire centuries ago.” Your teaser text should be 50 words maximum.
Your location entry should be a maximum of 300 words long. The text may be broken up by suheadings. You can indicate these by putting the headings on a line on their own.

You should use endnotes to cite direct quotes and specific information taken from a primary or secondary source. Endnotes should be formatted using the Chicago style (online guide to Chicago style here), and indicated in the text within [square brackets]. Here’s an example of a properly formatted endnote for citation from a specific page of a book:
[Insert endnote 1: Tyler Anbinder, City of Dreams: The 400-Year Epic History of Immigrant New York (HarperCollins, 2016), 22.]

If you are including images, videos, or other documents in your entry, include instructions in [square brackets]. For example, you might write [insert ‘image-1-joes-restaurant.jpg’ here]. Make sure these callouts match the file names for the images or other materials that you upload.
Include a list of references to works that you consulted in your research. References should be formatted using the Chicago style for bibliographies. Here’s an example:
Anbinder, Tyler. City of Dreams: The 400-Year Epic History of Immigrant New York. HarperCollins, 2016.
