Ever wonder if the city’s mosquito spraying is hitting more than just the pests? Our project dives into the unintended consequences of NYC’s mosquito control by tracking what happens to ‘non-target’ insects—like our friendly neighborhood bees and butterflies—after the spraying stops. Using crowd-sourced data from iNaturalist, we analyzed insect sightings in major hubs like Central and Prospect Park and found striking patterns of what truly happens to our beloved wildlife.
