This project is a visual representation of the Runagate, Runagate poem and composition, building off the fear experienced by runaway slaves to connect to larger themes about blackness and society and the feeling of anxiety.

Vytynanky & Dombra Festival

After extensive research on the cultural art styles we decided to combine Vytynanky and the Dombra by creating an event where people would indulge in making a papercut design to apply on to the Dombra. The event will finish off with everyone playing beginner songs with the Dombras they designed with Vytynanky.

The Park and the People

Discover the untold story of Seneca Village, a thriving 19th-century African American community that was demolished to make way for Central Park. The demolition of this space lead to the erasure of African American communities and history. Thanks to that, we were able to discover stories of perseverance, community, and the fight against injustice.
