Industry City, once the site of a row of factories and warehouses, is now the center for almost all types of cultural foods, events, and high-end stores under the management of its CEO Andrew Kimball. This complex resides at the waterfront of Sunset Park and is busy nearly any time of the day. Industry City is the home to many established small businesses, including Japan Village, Sahadi’s, Li-Lac Chocolates, Table 87, and more. You aren’t hungry? That’s okay – visit Industry City for a new haircut, to shop for a new sofa, or to buy a designer outfit. Just bring your wallet, and Industry City will have something that you want to splurge on.
Located in the Latin enclave of Sunset Park, you won’t find many Spanish people at Industry City. Before Industry City was built, the residents of Sunset Park fought against its creation, worried that this capital would bring about gentrification and displacement and that the developers would not be bound to their promises of maintaining affordable housing or hiring locals. Nearly 10 years after the opening of the modern Industry City, visit Sunset Park, stop by Industry City, and see for yourself. You won’t regret it.

Visit this multi-building complex that infiltrated Sunset Park’s waterside to bring tourists, community space, accelerated gentrification, and a whole lot of controversy. Try some onigiri from Japan Village or dance the salsa at weekly Latin Nights.
