Our project looks into how bee populations in Central Park have changed over the past decade. Using iNaturalist data, we found periods of growth, declines around the pandemic years, and an inconsistent recovery since then. These trends highlight how vulnerable yet essential bees are. They support gardens, parks, and the ecosystems that make urban life possible, but their presence is often overlooked in such a large city. We hope readers understand that bees’ health directly affects our own, especially as New York’s population continues to grow. Recognizing their importance and supporting their survival is not just environmentally friendly, but it is also an investment in the future of the city we live in.
