People should take away how much art and culture affects Coney Island and its inhabitants. The neighborhood is very beautiful and has a lot of history behind it that many should know.
How did completing your project help you explore the role of arts in the lives of New Yorkers and their communities?
Completing my Coney Island history and cultural arts project showed me how art shapes the identity and daily life of New Yorkers. Furthermore, this project revealed how art preserves local history and keeps community memories alive even as the neighborhood changes. Interviewing locals broadened my view on Coney Island giving me more of a meaningful insight on the community and the people who reside in it.
