As New Yorkers, it is no surprise that we are exposed to different types of art in our day-to-day lives. Whether you are from Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, or the Bronx, we all see art in the different parts of our respective boroughs. This art can range from anything such as the architectural structure of a certain building down to a limited edition exhibit that opened up at your local park. Our project consists of the different ways we see and interpret art from the different boroughs and what these art pieces mean to us.
Completing our project helped us to explore the role of arts in the lives of New Yorkers and their communities in many ways. Not only did it give us the opportunity to learn more about the different boroughs, but it allowed us to learn more about ourselves and what the art can meet to us. Most importantly, it also allowed us to learn about what art can mean to others, and how it plays a significant role in the different communities of New Yorkers.
