How To Contribute

“Your Story, Our Story” is a shared collection of student experiences. Each submission contributes to a larger picture of identity, memory, and community across our college.

This page will guide you through how to submit your story clearly and successfully.

What to Submit

Each submission includes three parts:

1. A Short Written Story
Share a meaningful moment, memory, or experience. This can be something personal, reflective, or connected to your life, your community, or your course.

Suggested length: 100–300 word

2. One Image
Upload a photo that connects to your story. This can be:

  • something you took
  • something meaningful to the moment
  • an object, place, or memory

The image does not need to be perfect. It just needs to be relevant.

3. Themes
Select one or more themes that best fit your story. These help organize the collection and allow others to explore related experiences.

Choosing a Theme

Themes are simple categories that describe your story.

Examples include:

  • People
  • Places
  • Identity
  • Memory
  • Community
  • Growth

Writing Tips

  • Be clear and specific
  • Focus on one moment or idea
  • Small details often make the biggest impact
  • Write in your own voice

Image Guidelines

  • Upload only images you have permission to use
  • Avoid including private or sensitive information
  • Make sure the image relates to your story

Before You Submit

Make sure:

  • Your story is complete
  • Your image is uploaded
  • You selected at least one theme
  • You have checked the consent box

What Happens After You Submit

Submissions are reviewed before being published.

Once approved, your story will appear on the public site as part of the shared collection.

A Final Note

This project is built from many individual voices. Each submission adds something meaningful to the whole.

Take your time, keep it simple, and share something that feels real to you.
